Four classes of not learning due to tech issues

We’ve entered the phase of everything breaking in Nashville’s remote learning. Yesterday a teacher couldn’t share her screen which meant the lesson plan had to be scrapped, one of the teachers couldn’t connect for several minutes into the class and the email informing parents of the delay was also delayed.

This morning a class started 10 minutes late and the majority of the class was spent with children saying they could not see the teacher or they could hear one person but not the other. Teams was selectively delivering audio from some, to some. This is a new and interesting bug. The teacher had to walk everyone through logging out, closing Teams, and starting again, and that didn’t work.

Next class was similar with the added feedback of a kid who’s system was feeding the audio right back into the thing.

After I posted this the next teacher was seeing nothing but green and had to reboot / got forced into a system update.

Combine with some internet failings yesterday caused by nationwide issues and bam.

But mostly Teams is getting terrible under load.
