Star Wars ABC review

Star Wars ABCsLittle did I know when my daughter was born that I would be teaching her about Ugnaughts and Wookies as part of learning her ABCs and that she would like it, but there you go, nerds rule the land now and all that’s left is a meme.

At two and a quarter Maggie digs this, Robots Robots Everywhere, and Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed as part of her nighttime wind-down, along with a bunch of others but I’m not at the house to remember them.

I guess if you’re a Star Wars fan you’ll start wondering why Vader manages to get in twice, and there are a few glaring omissions, fortunately my daughter doesn’t as of yet have the cognitive skills to realize there’re substantive problems with the selection and some of the facts (C3P0 is fluent in over six million forms of communication, not countless languages).

All in all it’s a really cute ABC book for kids and their Star Wars nerd parents. Mostly it’s a bunch of stills from the movies, but there are some drawings where there was no good option (such as Zam, the shapeshifter and only character to start with Z in the movie franchise).

Nothing will make your inner geek happier than your kiddo’s first “Wookie” or hearing them try and pronounce Millennium Falcon.

Star Wars ABC is available from Amazon for $11.69, and is worth it.
