Baby is obsessed with appropriate sized seating

Appropriately sized seatingThere’s something I’ve been noticing more and more and that is that Maggie at 20 months is now completely obsessed with correct-height seating.

At the grocery store she’s sitting on anything that’s seven inches off the ground in her sight, at home she’s rigging up ways to sit in a chair, and at daycare she’s happy to sit at the baby board table (feeding table for eight kiddos). Whatever it is as long as it’s appropriately sized she’s into it.

Today we were at a store, hundreds of things down at grabbing level and Maggie getting more and more frustrated that I wouldn’t let her dismantle shelving and throw everything all over the place when we finally ran into her dream aisle: appropriately sized baby seating.

She plunked down and played in two seats for what seemed like an eternity, although she was convinced they were rocking chairs.

We eventually got her away from the seating and took her back to the house, where visibly exhausted you could see in her eyes she had visions of seating at the appropriate level.

I’m becoming convinced this chair is probably our next purchase, although I’d really like to find something inflatable that could easily be stashed rather than a full-blown baby Lazyboy.

I think she’s accepted that she’s a little human and now wants little human stuff.
