Sick again, this time the CDC is involved with daycare

Maggie and the solar lanternsFirst off, Maggie’s only slightly ill. Unfortunately her entire daycare has come down with the plague and I’m told the CDC has been involved and is looking at stool samples. This evidently is a somewhat normal occurrence with daycares, except for the cdc stool sample things.

We were also informed that we were given a notice about this, nope. Once again my sketchtastic feelings about the place start to return as they thought posting a little note over a keypad you don’t even have to press most days to get in was enough notice to parents.

What this lead to was a doctor’s visit, an antibiotic, and an hour and a half ordeal to get the antibiotic at Wal-Mart which seems to assume that after you’ve spent your lunch hour at the doctor you might appreciate another half hour waiting for the pharmacy department to get back from lunch.

I’ll be spending some time with the wee one tomorrow as if she’s feeling up to it she’s going into work with me for a couple of hours… I’ll be talking with the new principle of the daycare¬†about future notification requirements when we go back in as i don’t feel hunting for a post-it note located somewhere in the school is an acceptable method of address.

It actually reminds me a bit of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy with the notification posted in another galaxy.

Meanwhile, little sick baby is snoozing and in a better mood than this morning and I’m going to make some follow-up phone calls to some of these other daycares that have taken checks for a waiting list and never bothered to contact me back as I’m not particularly enthused about this.

Meh, theITbaby will return in its glory in a few days. Working three jerbs and a sick kiddo means odd updates for a week or so.
