If you have older kids, for trips you probably have a couple of phones for the parents, a tablet or two for the kids to watch Netflix or games on, and a power consumption need that is kind of absurd but must be met if you want your ears to survive a trip.
What this has generally meant is a charger or two capable of delivering about an amp to two amps attempting to keep three or four devices alive while the car is running, and those devices sucking more juice combined than two of those cheap car chargers will produce.
A losing game however you look at it on longer trips.
With most phones being able to charge at between 1 and 2 amps, and the average tablet wanting two or more amps just to get out of bed, your 500mA car charger (half an amp,) can’t cover it and sometimes drains more than it provides due to heating the battery up but letting it down (ladies?).
Enter the Aukey Multi Port USB Car Charger – a device capable of delivering up to 9.6 amps (insert monster truck engine noise,) of juice, which will completely full tilt charge four iPad Airs (2.4amp) at the same time. for the average users who don’t have four iPad Airs in a car for their kids it’s more than capable of charging an HTC One M8, a Galaxy Tab GS5, a Kindle Fire tablet, and power the average amazing GPS without breaking a sweat.
I got one of these as a sample for my other blogging gig, and I must admit I’m a bit overworked this and the next coming weeks so this is a bit of recycling articles on my part, but the product is amazing and comes in at a reasonable price so for once I was actually kind of giddy to promote something (this just may be the absurd caffeine withdrawal however.)
It has technology in it that will enable you to charge one device at a lower charge rate, and another at a high charge rate, without having to switch which ports you’re in. it just knows. No risk plugging a 500mA max device in port 1 when port 2 is going to be pulling 2.4 amps. Their AI-Power tech takes care of that for you so no need to worry about a fried device.
Anyway, if you’re looking for a way to power all your tech gadgets and all your kids’ tech stuff in one easy solution, the Aukey Multi Port USB Car Charger is hard to beat at $19.99 on Amazon.
If you’re looking for a way to consolidate all those chargers into one place non-mobily (EG at home,) I wrote a bit over at the other blogging gig about their 5-Port wall unit. I’ve been using that to charge *everything* at my house now.
