As a note, we do not cover every recall

Just a quick little mention that although I do write up some of the recalls that pass through, there are some that are not written up. If you’re really interested in seeing the product recalls for kids and babies, I encourage you to go to the Consumer Product Safety Commission and sign up for their list.

There have been several clothing recalls that we’ve skipped do to no injury, listed as a potential choking hazard with a drawstring, and some items that no sane parent would purchase in the first place. Bags of broken glass and Johnny Switchblade come to mind.

There have also been a couple of items skipped due to a spam filter catching the CPSC emails. Seriously though, sign up for that list above, you get maybe one email a week if you’re only looking at the kids items.

There are also times when I’m not able to update theITbaby. I’ve got like umpteen trillion blogs to work on, 2.5 jobs, and a baby. I’ll cover the highlights as I’m able but god forbid you think of us as anything more than a morbidly curious IT based parenting blog.

That’s about it. We cover a lot, but not going to catch everything. Seriously, sign up at the CPSC, we’re at least on recall #4 now. Pacifier, Baby monitor, car seat, and stroller are the ones I remember, but probably more.

It doesn’t seem to matter if they’ve got a good rep, are expensive or cheap as hell, they all seem to get a recall eventually. Staying on top of those recall emails could mean the difference between life, and life without portions of your fingers in the case of that last Britax recall.

Night all. Sleep well. Sign up for that email list and check it regularly.
