A lot of milestones in a really short amount of time

Maggie in her Dora chair with my old HTC EVO 3DSo, while I’ve been sick (this is week three now,) Maggie has been progressing pretty well in spite of also being sick a good week and a half of the past month. She got what I think was the flu portion of my three illnesses, it got her kicked out of daycare a couple of days, and that combined with pushing some new teeth put her into a very very vomity state.

We’ve got six teeth with what looks like 7-12 on the way, so she becomes a slobber monster every couple of days. She also can bite like a shark and adorable baby kisses can turn into a zombie attack without warning.

She’s also decided that the best way to eat is with her own hands, which means our mess level has increased a lot. Unfortunately she hasn’t yet mastered chewing or swallowing all the food in her mouth before shoving more in. This leads to spills, and choking. Choking leads to projectile vomiting.

So we’re learning quickly to not put all the food out where she can get it.

Sleeping went back to so/so, but the reintroduction of night diapers seems to have stopped a lot of the random wakeups. Think that it must not be fun sleeping in a wet diaper, but I don’t recall those days too well. College was a long time ago.

She also has started taking little steps when assisted onto her feet. I think she’s just completely given up any attempts to crawl, she’s actually gotten a lot worse at it and I didn’t think that was going to be a possibility. It seems the more she works at crawling the further away from it she’s getting.

Totally not sure what to do about that one, but going with the “it doesn’t matter,” since the ABC method has evidently screwed up that developmental milestone for babies everywhere. We’ll see.

She’s also taken to sitting up a bit on her own as long as she’s on a soft surface. As in if she’s laying flat on the couch, she may work at sitting up. If she’s on the baby fight pit or the floor, forget it. I guess the couch she knows if she bonks her head down it’ll be soft.

She started waving at people, and will occasionally wave to the people on TV but seems a bit annoyed that they don’t wave back.

And that’s what’s been going on these past three weeks while I’ve been pretty much dead. My little baby’s becoming a slightly larger baby. I missed a lot of enjoying it due to being sick, I’m not particularly happy with that.
