Noise reducing 3M Peltor Junior Earmuff in action

3M Peltor Junior Earmuffs in actionSo although we got the chance to review the 3M Peltor Junior Earmuffs earlier, tonight was the loudest dB that Maggie has ever been exposed to with Luella and the Sun and the lead singer who I must admit can hit some amazing notes, at amazing volumes. There was no chance I was letting Maggie go unshielded for them and so we slapped them on her and sat in a park in Nashville full of children with unprotected ears.

After Luella and the Sun, I feel like I’ve had some hearing damage. That woman can belt some notes and those notes are loud, piercing, and generally work for the song, but did I mention loud enough yet?

Maggie’s grown a bit since the last time she had these on, so I had to stretch them out for her comfort a bit, that exhausting labor took about 20 seconds and she was pretty happy with the results. At least she was not complaining about the earmuffs.

Sleeping through most of it

The concert went without much of a hitch, I switched into judgmental asshole mode at the parents of children the same age who didn’t bring some sort of ear protection. The ones nearest us were holding their child’s ears as the lead singer held a note for far far longer than one’s ears can handle, but they probably didn’t damage their kid’s hearing from this.

The headphones are comfortable enough for Maggie to sleep with them on, so there’s that. Then again there’s also just the possibility that my child can sleep through anything. The one pretty awesome thing about tonight was with the headphones we held off the 7pm demons until about 7:09, and then she was a bit too tired from the excitement to do much other than wait for the music to stop, at which point she decided to become a bit of a fuss and promptly pass the eff out.

We caught site of some people there with a pink version of these, which I did not notice was an option. Oh well, Maggie’s got the awesome tactical black ones and they suit her.

You can get the 3M Peltor Junior Earmuffs at Amazon for $14.82. They’re cheaper than a doctor’s visit to diagnose early hearing loss.
